Barone played in the fourth season Seinfeld Episode The Shoes as Gail Cunningham a chef who wanted Elaine Benes shoes. In the early 1990s she was a regular on the cast in the show Carol & Company with actress Carol Burnett. Barone was also Carol Willick Ross Geller's wife in Friendsin the show's premiere episode. Jane Sibbett was her replacement after Barone left Friends for a job that required more time. Barone was a part of The Jeff Foxworthy Show for the first season (1995-1996) and in The War at Home between 2005 until 2007. Barone has also been a guest on Daddio, a sitcom that aired in 2000. Barone is also famous for her TV roles on Desperate Housewives Quantum Leap Empty Nest Chicago Hope Castle Do Not Disturb Ally McBeal Caroline, In the City Party of Five The Larry Sanders Show. In 2004 Barone was awarded her 2005 Methodfest Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in the feature film One Last Ride. Barone's recurring role on the Disney Channel show Shake It Up began in 2010, just three years after The War at Home finished the show's run. She played officer Georgia Jones, the mother of Bella Thorne's CeCe Jones. The actor who plays Barone's husband Matthew Glave guest starred in two episodes of Shake It Up as J.J. Jones the ex-husband of the character played by Barone.
