Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. After her father's departure from the household, the actress was grew up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. Ford was suffering from anxiety disorder based on the word association when she was a teenager. Ford was interested in the field of acting during her teen years, and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. She gained admission to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, but decided after a week that she wasn't a good fit there. Ford applied again to Central School of Speech and Drama and on her fourth attempt she was eventually admitted. Shaun Dingwall would play Pete Tyler who is a character that was recurring on Doctor Who. Ford's television debut was in the 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the when she finished her studies, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate was featured in a variety of television programs including The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning in the Nineties. Alongside her usual stage work, Tate was a part of in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. Tate started to get noticed because of her stand-up comedic performances in 1996.
