The Garena's Garena first league (GPL) was introduced in May 2012. The GPL is a pro online game that spans 6 months and features more than 100 games. GPL's inaugural season features six teams made up of professionals League of Legends players. These teams represent top players from different countries. GPL games are recorded and streamed online with the commentary. These are available for viewers to enjoy through the GPL official website In January of 2013, Garena announced the second season of the Garena Premier League, which will begin on January 4th, 2013. Garena Premier League 2013, started on the 4th of January 2013 and will comprise two new teams. One each of Taiwan as well as Vietnam. It brings the teams' total to eight. The teams are: AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. The Garena E-Sports arena, a venue for esports is a venue that was inaugurated in November 2014 in Neihu District of Taipei. This studio was partly built to house events like the League of Legends Masters Series, the world's top LoL Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau league that was a spin-off from GPL. Garena has started with the Iron Solari League - a League of Legends competition for women in the Philippines on January 1, 2015. It is a monthly event which is played in the second part of every month. The goal of this event is to promote participation from under-represented communities and is open to all women who identify the same. Garena is not only a tournament organizer but also organizes offline gatherings as well as events which allow participants to connect.
