Rachel Keller

RachelRachel Keller is a fictional character from The Ring film series. The character was invented by producer-writer Ehren Kruger and voiced by Naomi Watts, serves as the main character in The Ring and The Ring Two and shares a lot of similarities with Reiko Asakawa, the protagonist of the original Japanese films.Introduced in 2002's film, Rachel is an investigative journalist, who must find the best way to avoid death after watching a cursed video tape that she discovered while investigating the death of her niece. Rachel is required to investigate the disappearance of Samara Morgan who is her son, in The Ring Two. Ruth, Rachel's sister, asks Rachel to look into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Katie's sudden death. Rachel discovers that Katie was healthy and she found Katie's disfigured body inside the closet. Katie's family members tell Rachel about the legend surrounding the videotape that was cursed and Becca Katie's friend was taken to a hospital after seeing Katie's death. Katie's boyfriend, as well as two of her friends were killed in bizarre accidents the night before at 10 after 10. Rachel goes to Shelter Mountain Inn and stays at Cabin 12, which is the exact cabin in which Katie and her companions were watching the videotape with the curse. Rachel stumbles across the tape and starts watching it, after which the phone rings. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel is seeking help from her former boyfriend Noah Clay, a video analyst. Rachel is later informed that Aidan (her son who is also with Noah) looked at the tape and informed her that he believed what she said. Rachel looks through the tape to find the lighthouse and finds that it's located on Moesko Island. This was the home of Anna Morgan, an evil horse breeder who was cursed to appear on the tape with the cursed name. After investigating, Rachel discovers Anna had an adopted daughter named Samara, who possessed the power to burn disturbing images into the minds of people, animals and objects. Rachel must leave Anna's widower Richard when she starts asking questions regarding Samara.
